The Fire Within and a Peace Revolution

May 9, 2020

A few years ago, I was given the opportunity to attend a meditation fellowship retreat in Thailand with others from around the world. We were welcomed by those dedicated to the Dhammakaya tradition, notably through Peace Revolution. On my first night in Thailand before heading to the island, I slept at their main headquarters not too far from their famous temple, Wat Phra Dhammakaya. In this town, there are thousands of ordained Buddhist monks occupying the area and meditating throughout the day and night. Before going to sleep that night, I began my meditation and soon got hit with a powerful yet strange visual. I saw a monk sitting and meditating dressed in the usual orange saffron - only he was on fire! Even though I was intrigued by the visual, I thought nothing of it until I found out later that visualizing fire at your center (2 finger-widths above the navel) is a well known Dhammakaya meditation technique.

In Kundalini Yoga, one of the most popular breathing techniques is the breath of fire. And in Sacred Geometry, the tetrahedron is said to represent the element of fire. Next time you meditate, try visualizing a tetrahedron at your center pointing upwards. Below you will find other geometric shapes and their corresponding elements.

Peace Revolution asked me to write and produce a song for them on peace and meditation and turn it around in just a couple of days for a finale event of theirs. Of course, I said yes, and as a novice, I surprisingly created and got it in their hands in time. It was a true blessing to have been a part of this awesome fellowship of peace!
